Objection to Planning Application
Updates
For many years walkers have been hampered by poor access paths from Poundbury to the surrounding countryside.  The development there has grown over the years but the Duchy has refused to provide safe access across the A37 to the west or across the A35 towards Maiden Castle.  In 2006 the Poundbury Development Brief was published, following an extensive public consultation process, which stated that rural access, via the existing underpasses, should be opened to the public.
Our Campaign was launched to put pressure on the Duchy to meet their obligations prior to the submission of their development plans for phases 3 & 4 at Poundbury.  These plans are now published and, whilst they have agreed to open the underpasses, the proposed route to Maiden Castle is both circuitous and unpleasant.
We have tried to open negotiations with the Duchy and their tenant farmer, and have put compromise proposals to them, but without success.  Planning application has now been lodged with WDDC and the campaign is asking all members to submit objections on the grounds that the Duchy are not meeting the requirements of the Development Brief to provide direct access to Maiden Castle.
Below you will find all the information you require to submit an individual objection.  Every objection counts so please...

Though the DEADLINE has past, late objections may be accepted!
